Interactive Park Display

The Ridgway’s Rail is a bird of the Rail family, with their conservation status reaching near threatened. Their anatomy contains a special gland that extracts salt from sea water. This display is inspired by that very gland. The exhibit is made of plastic, with wooden legs and vinyl graphics. The user can slide a small plastic water droplet along a carved pathway to demonstrate the path that water takes within the bird. When the droplet reaches the gland and end of stomach, informational text pops up in the form of a larger water droplet. This display was rendered with Solidworks, Keyshot, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
